Dude, this looks sharp as heck. I've been loving this style I've been seeing around of having really detailed line work, but limited pallet solid color shading.

It genuinely looks amazing, like I'd like to see this as a cover for an issue.

LStowe responds:

Thanks. I have to give props to Devgear who did the lineart though. I thought this was an excellent challenge to flat as it was only moderately complicated.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks
Luke

Before I read the title, I was like "this looks a lot like that one Spiderman game!"
Ultimate Spiderman was neat, but I remember like a lot of superhero games getting burnt out on the missions by the mid point. Web slinging was fun as hecc, tho. I kind of wish newer superhero games would stop trying to be like Arkham since there's a lot of unexplored ground. But that's its own discussion-

Anyway, I like it. It looks really close to the original game's style.

Oooh, looks really nice even if the idea is simple. Actually that right there is a good sign you're doing the vfx part right. I like it.

It's been a while! It's like, you see him in his action pose like 90% of the time, but I'm sure stuff would hit the fan when he's wearing his PJs anyway. Or credits roll, and he's just chilling on the couch.

I think you should use his right arm for something character design wise like you did with the Ninja outfit, like have a spatula attached or something comical in contrast to his "serious and battle ready" look. Regardless, I like it.

I mean, we follow because you put out cool stuff. Don't be too overtly sweet about it- I'm deducting 0.5 points, I'm sorry.

I mean, I usually like pixel art that holds its ground even if it wasn't pixelated. It's good in the art side, it's good in the pixel art side. Usually you're pretty good at color choice whether subdued or really poppy and saturated. And it's easily readable and clean which adds to the whole cute factor. Just thought it's worth pointing out why I follow your art since you bothered to say thanks :v

Ioruko responds:

Alright, thanks for your input! I'm happy to hear it!

I like it. All around it's sharp and clean. I also like the little outline around the shading on the sword.

They're all pretty good. I'm more interested in how you can design so much of them on the fly.

DieMango responds:

Uuuhh...random shapes and a odd interest in machines...

I just imagine her turning her head as some bushes rustle in the distance half way through the story. It cozy. Also love the twisted trees.

Ioruko responds:

Thanks! I was initially planning to animate some spooky eyes behind her in the dark, but I ran out of time :D

The sparkles really sell it :v
Looks kind of like a tart-fruit cake hybrid.

Ioruko responds:

I like this type of cake, perfect if the filling is whipped cream or smth like it

Really nice! And while I know it's sprite art, I can't help but feel that this would've looked better with a "little" more resolution since some information blends together a bit much. Or maybe a little more contrast.

Otherwise, it's amazing.

3DCG and cel-shading nerd. I like fast video games.
