I don't mind the idea of bringing the classic stick figure fights in 3D, but there's some things I'd like to point out to help make another take on this more enjoyable to watch.

-The camera work is often odd. Like in the first person scene, why is the camera following the gun and not the head. In the desk scene, why cut just barely moving the camera to him picking up the phone, then cut back just barely zooming back out. Either zoom the other camera in more into his face to make it more of a cut, otherwise have it in one shot.

-There's a whole build up scene but with no actual build up. The guy's on the phone, leaves, then shoots people. There's not much going on to follow. This scene is better off left out to focus more on the meat of the video.

-The street just cuts off into a void. You should be crafty about it and cover the view with something. A lot of making this stuff is figuring out how to be lazy when you need to. Creative laziness helps a lot!

-There's a lot of clash in visual consistency. The environment doesn't go with the stick figures which doesn't go with the weapons. Some work should be done on getting the look down. New materials, new models, and more consistent texture work.

- Some sound effects aren't loud enough, like the gun at 1:45. Or not enough sound effects exist, too much silence during movement.

I feel taking these suggestions into account even a little would bump up the quality quite a bit.

GameDevWannabe responds:

I like the breakdown, thanks.

I will improve my model too, they are full of NGONS, this was way back when I didn't know about inverse kinematic too.

And I didn't even bother watching animation tutorial on camera, character movement.
The animation was deemed to fail from the beginning.
Still improving !

Fun but too trope-y and inconsistent for my taste.
There are scenes where you show a stick figure, another where you show a fully featured human hand. There are scenes where they're just stick figures, and another where the have facial close ups. It comes off as off for me.

While I don't mind the over the top nature, I kind of expected it to go all "haha" and self aware with it. The blasted up licensed music playing *all* the time doesn't help either. The inconsistent subtitles and grammar errors cheapen the thing a little. I like my unapologetically shonen fights, but this is like drinking it black. The over the top-ness should be toned down a little, in my opinion. Or at least have a little bit *and I mean a little* self awareness.

There are times where I say that the animation is good, but I feel there's too much of an emphasis on vfx and screen shake, rather than raw animation.

It's enjoyable, but that enjoyment is hampered by what I mentioned above. But I did find it enjoyable over all, so in that, good job.

FIRST I WANT TO THANK YOU I RESPECT EVERY OPINION , THIS ANIMATION I MEAN SOME SCENES WERE MADE BEFORE ONE YEAR AGO AND SOME BEFORE 7 MONTHS I JUST LEFT IT AND I CAME BACK TO FINISH IT AND EDIT IT AND POST IT I HAVE IMPROVED A LOT , AND FOR THE ENGLISH GRAMMAR MISTAKES CAN YOU TELL ME THE MISTAKES PLEASE BECAUSE ENGLISH IS NOT MY MAIN AND I WANT TO KNOW THE MISTAKES. AND FOR THE BODY UPS I MADE IT LIKE THIS BECAUSE IT LOOKS MORE BADASS THE CHARACTER LOOKS HUGE AND BADASS BUT WHEN ANIMATING IT OR THE CAMERA IS FAR I MAKE IT NORMAL .. I WILL DO MY BEST IN PART 4.🌺🌷

Ah man, I miss Sir J. Pleasantly surprised I get to see his name on Newground's front page. Really underrated stuff, between his reimaginings and original works.
As usual with Sonic Paradox, despite all the animators and shifting styles, it remains enjoyable through out.

RGPAnims responds:

Sir J just recently came back, with the original MV being made public again!

I mean, who says it needs to be a huge project? It works perfectly fine as a cute funs-ie as it is.
The animation and look is done pretty darn well. May not be the most in depth story told, but it doesn't need to. You didn't need to end it in a cliff hanger, you could've told a mini story in one video if you were clever about it. Creates this unfinished vibe that I couldn't tell if you didn't otherwise tell me!

But I like it, really.

MarcHendry responds:

Thank you! I think I could find shorter stories inside the overall arc, that would still make sense without the rest of it. So it'd be cool to do that some day

The start tile card and premise made me think "hey, this is getting somewhere". I like Daddy-O's character design, for example.

But the majority of the video feels like a school project writing wise, where it's a history dump and the character has no real relevance. I'd imagine suave cool-dood Daddy-O probably has his own unique way of wording things. The visuals could use a little more fbf, but I think what really weights this down is the writing. Not much happens here.

But I could find it enjoyable here and there. There's some style beneath it all.

MummyD responds:

Thank you for your response. Unlike Peabody and Sherman, Mummy Daddyo's esoteric brand of infotainment is best enjoyed with a hot cup of coffee. Sometimes there is more info, than tainment. A sideline to his more hot rodish tendancies, it sometimes it gets him in trouble. Crazy man!

I feel it's better off if you put this in the art section as a pure gif loop makes more sense there, btw.

I think it's okay. There isn't much weight as everything's linear. Timing is important in animating, and it's also part of how you define weight or force. He's also jumping up without crouching down at all. Like try jumping or walking at all, and there needs to be some downwards motion before you can go up.

FoxMew4044 responds:

I can tell you why there's no weight because I uploaded the test animation instead this is why should always double checkXD
